FALL 2023 - SHOES I'M EYEING
Since moving to New York, I've realized that I have to be much more intentional with the purchases that I am making. When I lived in Miami, it was summer all year long - so I could buy a sun dress in January, and I knew I could wear it again in July. However, living in New York, seasons last only three months, and some trends will be out of style by the time the season comes around the following year. Not only that, but my closets are significantly smaller! There's no way I can fit everything I want.
Because of this, I've started creating mood boards for clothes I'm eyeing for each season! This helps me keep an eye out for the any sales for the things I am eyeing and helps me identify good investment pieces that are transferrable through seasons.
For fall, I rounded up a bunch of shoes that I suspect will be in trend this year (based on some of the stylists I follow on TikTok!) and made a mood board to help with my shopping. Take a look at why I'm eyeing these pieces below.
LOAFERS
To be completely honest, I thought loafers were going to die out after last year, but it looks like they might be here to stay. They definitely elevate sweater/jeans look. I think loafers are a great investment, I saw them out a lot in the summer too, paired with sundresses and midi silk skirts. Here are some that I am eyeing:
Shoes: Women's, Men's & Kids Shoes from Top Brands | DSW
Lisa Vicky Zany Loafer (Women) | Nordstrom - also love these (not pictured)
SNEAKERS
I am a sneaker gal through and through. I will always sneakers if I have the opportunity. I picked these adidas gazelles in green for a few reasons. For one, the green is more of a sage to me and could be worn in the fall and the spring. I also like the platform on the gazelle, which elevates the look. I have the adidas gazelles in pink and I love them. They make me feel like I'm wearing a platform without having to actually wear a heel!
I know the Adidas sambas are "basic", but I think they're a great staple. They can be worn with many different outfits and don't take away from a look. Also, these can be worn in any season, which makes them a great investment piece. I love the Beige/White sneakers because they can be worn with any color you pick.
I'm also obsessed with these New Balance X Aime Leon Dore 550 in the brown color. They're definitely more of a sporty sneaker, which I can always rationalize! Working from home, most of my days are spent in sweats or comfortable clothing, so these shoes would be great to throw on when I need to leave the house. See sneakers I'm eyeing here:

BOOTS
Coming from Miami, I definitely need to step up my boot collection. After watching tons of TikToks on the boots for this season, I sifted through a couple that caught my eye. The thing I love about boots is that I can wear them in the fall, winter, and even the spring (depending on how long the cold lasts)! The booties I picked out are definitely going to be my first purchases, given how basic and simple they are. Between the two booties, I can wear them with almost every outfit this coming winter. I love the kitten heel high boots, and I've heard they're comfortable, but I'm not sure they're the best investment piece for long term use. Riding boots have been around for a while, so I think they would also be a great piece to invest in. I am also obsessed with the leather biker boot trendy! I need to try a few pairs on to see if I can actually pull them off. See boots I'm eyeing here:

FLATS
Since I love anything that doesn't hurt my feet, I love that flats are also making an appearance this fall! The slingback flats are sick and are great for both fall and summer! I saw a few cute slingbacks online, but honestly, slingbacks were a hit back in the 80's and 90's, and I feel like I could find an awesome vintage pair. I also heard that red is THE color for fall - so I found a cute pair of red flats! I think these would be a fun pair to dress up in all black for but might not be the pair I'm running to purchase first!
FAUX PATENT LEATHER MARY JANES - Red | ZARA United States
Sam Edelman Fitzgerald Slingback Pump | Women's Heels
Sam Edelman Kara Slingback Flat | Women's Heels
